Benefits Offered to Qualified Texas Veterans*

The Texas Veteran Land Board (VLB) offers competitive interest rate loans for the purchase of a hoe.  If you are a qualified Texas Veteran, you have homeownership benefits thought the Texas VLB.  With this program you can receive financing for the purchase of a home and may also be eligible for an interest rate reduction.

• Competitive fixed rates

• Flexible loan options (VA, FHA and Conventional) with a maximum loan amount up to $325,000

• Disability Discount: Veterans with a compensable, service connected disability of 30% or greater (as verified by VA) are eligible for the Disability Discount

• To honor our Texas veterans, the VLB offers a substantial interest rate reduction on home loans to the surviving spouse of any service member killed in the line of duty. The reduction is a full 50 basis points, or one-half of one percent on the available VLB loan interest rates

• Eligible Reservist and members of the National Guard who have a VLB home loan, have an interest rate of 0 % while they are on active duty and for 90 days after they return

How to Get Started: Begin the process today!

To participate in the VHAP program, simply complete the Certification of Eligibility application and fax it with your DD-214 (or your most current LES) to the VLB at 512-475-0936.
